Participants will learn how to conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to determine their needs, strengths, and resources
Participants will learn how to develop and implement individualized service plans that address clients’ needs, goals, and objectives
Participants will learn how to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, community organisations, and government agencies to coordinate and ensure the delivery of services to clients
Participants will learn how to monitor clients’ progress and modify service plans as necessary to ensure clients’ needs are being met.
Participants will learn how to provide emotional support and guidance to clients and their families
Participants will learn how to help clients access resources and services, such as healthcare, housing, and employment
Participants will learn how to advocate for clients to ensure that they receive the necessary services and support to meet their needs
Participants will learn how to maintain accurate and complete documentation of all services provided to clients.
This course will be delivered through a combination of online and live-streaming training sessions, as well as practical field experience. Participants will be required to complete assignments and assessments to demonstrate their understanding of the course content.
Upon completion of this course, participants will have the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective case managers and provide comprehensive case management services to clients in need of behavioural health and substance use disorder treatment.

David is a Master Coach, facilitator and expert in the field of addiction recovery. He has many years of experience working in the areas of systemic recovery and wellness, growth, transformation and diversity. His passion and thinking bring an experiential depth to the work that he facilitates.
In 2001 David established The Foundation Clinic in Johannesburg, a primary care substance misuse treatment facility where we have developed a unique, patient-led approach to recovery.
To share his vision for recovery, he established the UBUNTU ACADEMY OF COACHING TRAINING (U-ACT ), an umbrella organisation comprising two global education programmes: the GLOBAL WELLNESS EDUCATION NETWORK (GWEN) and THIS IS AFRICA (TIA), as well as an extensive schools outreach programme.
This diverse and growing chain of initiatives facilitates the training of recovery coaches and facilitators worldwide with the goal of eliminating addiction and uplifting communities internationally.
